Linda Weber Collins will teach the following four workshops:
Two Irish workshops this time. The first is “Irish Marches in a Minor Key.” We will learn two E minor marches, Down the Brae and The Halting March. Add some minor tunes to your playing, as a refreshing change of pace. Capo required. Level 4, Friday, Session 5
The second Irish workshop is “Lovely Irish Duets,” featuring duet arrangements of one of Linda’s favorite songs, Come by the Hills (also known as The Cares of Tomorrow) and Be Thou My Vision (Slane.) Level 3, Saturday, Session 6
“Create Chord Backup ‘on the Fly,’ Part 1” introduces a practical approach to learning chords that enable us to participate in jams when we don't know the tune. Learning chords in context, with optimal fingering, makes chords easy. Level 3, Friday, Session 7
Linda’s fourth offering is her highly-regarded ergonomics class, “Play with Comfort and Avoid Injury.” The way we use our bodies to produce music on an instrument is best guided by the ways our body was designed to move. Makes sense, right? But most of us, when faced with playing a tune on an instrument, forget entirely about our bodies! This class will help you avoid problems or deal with ones that may already be occurring. Everyone can benefit from this class! Level 2, Saturday, Session 1
